Dynamic Character (q5-1)

Q: Anne is a dynamic character; that is, she changes in the course of the play. What does Anne’s gift giving reveal about her? How do her gifts to her mother and peter show that she has changed?

The gifts that Anne had given to her mother and Peter show that she has learned how to think for others and respect their words. The pass of 10 listening hours proves that Anne has learned to reflect on her misdeeds and she is learning to think more about others than herself. The presents also show Anne's will to get closer with her mother and Peter and respect them. So, Anne has grown from immature and full of hate (towards Mother and Peter) to agreeable and caring. This also shows the maturity of Anne after staying in the Annex (a scrunched up place full of other people and strangers) for a long time.
