Reflecting(q7)

Q: What do you think this play reveals about our need for freedom? About the power of love? About courage and hope? About good and evil? In your answers, consider how the play’s themes relate to the themes of another work, such as The Taming of the Shrew.

This play reveals that all living things have the right to live freely with their own aspect in life. In Amazing Grace, their are many scenes where people are showing refusement towards the slavery act because they think that all humans should be treated equal with their freedom. The family of Anne Frank must have survived during their time in hiding with their love for each other. The love of family is the most important and everlasting love to take place in life. This message is displayed in many other works. Their is a Korean saying, "Blood is thicker that water", that messages the importance of family love. There are many scenes in the play where the people clench onto their hope and take risks (courage) to save themselves (like when Mr. Frank went down the Annex to investigate if anyone was there). This reminded me of The Shawshank Redemption. The main character plucked up his courage to escape the prison and also had his hope of surviving and doing revenge. I don't really get the good and evil but, I think that there was no good and evil in the war. It was probably the lake of understanding and the force of prejudice. The Jews aren't actually all "good" and there must have been many crimes before the war that the Jews caused. (I cannot recall any other work about good and evil that relates to this)
